TK Alliance announced as Preferred Proponent for the River Torrens to Darlington Project

Industry leaders Arcadis, John Holland, Bouygues Construction Australia, Jacobs and Ventia are excited to announce their selection as the preferred Alliance for the landmark River Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Project in South Australia.

The South Australian Government’s $15.4 billion T2D Project will deliver 10.5km of non-stop motorway between the River Torrens and Darlington, completing the 78km North-South Corridor and significantly contributing to the economic growth and development of Adelaide and South Australia.

We are excited to have the opportunity to work with the Australian and South Australian governments to deliver this city shaping project that will provide safe and efficient journeys for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists, connect open spaces and recreational facilities, and unlock economic opportunities and growth for South Australia.

Drawing on our collective global experience and expertise in delivering superior transport solutions, our Alliance is uniquely equipped to tackle the unique challenges and realise the many opportunities that a project of this size and magnitude presents.

Belinda Virant, Business Area Director – Mobility, Arcadis, said: “As part of the Alliance, Arcadis is pleased to participate in Adelaide's growth through the T2D Project. We’ll emphasise a commitment innovation and sustainability to ensure a lasting impact on South Australia."

Along with significant improvements to the transport network, the T2D Project will also provide a wide range of social and economic benefits to South Australia, creating over 5,500 new jobs per year during construction and significantly enhancing the State’s construction industry’s capacity and capability. The project will serve as a springboard for workforce development and upskilling, leaving a skills legacy for South Australia.

Delivery of the T2D Project will play a critical role in building local construction capabilities, supporting apprenticeships, and strengthening SA businesses and suppliers’ opportunities evidenced by over 300 local enterprises expressing interest to participate as subcontractors via the Industry Capability Network.

Investment in workforce development will be a key focus for the Alliance, in order to develop a resilient labour pipeline. Over the life cycle of the project more than 100 cadets and 150 graduates will commence their careers, along with strategies to increase industry participation among women and Aboriginal communities.
