Arcadis is pleased to announce that it has been named by EHS Today, the magazine for environment, health, and safety leaders, as one of America’s Safest Companies 2024. The eight companies named to the list are involved in a broad range of activities, from construction to engineering, consumer packaged goods to pipe joining systems, roofing to nuclear waste management, and more.
For more than 20 years, the America’s Safest Companies competition has sought to identify those characteristics that differentiate good safety programs from great ones, and to celebrate the best practices and procedures that exemplify safety excellence. The class of 2024 includes Arcadis US, AtkinsRéalis US Nuclear, Brieser Construction, Burns & McDonnell, The Clorox Company, D. C. Taylor Co., United Engineers and Constructors, and Victaulic. Winners will be honored during a special awards ceremony on August 27 during the Safety Leadership Conference in Denver, CO.
John McCarthy, U.S. Country Director at Arcadis, said: “This award is a tremendous achievement that underscores our commitment to health and safety at Arcadis. We are proud to be named to EHS Today’s list because health and safety is at the forefront of everything we do, whether we’re working in the field or in a hybrid office. Being stewards of health and safety is an ongoing process, and our employees demonstrate their commitment daily.”
Dave Blanchard, EHS Today Editor-in-Chief, said: “The America’s Safest Companies award program has a basic mission: to identify and celebrate companies that go above and beyond in the pursuit of safety excellence, and then to share their stories with the entire safety community. We congratulate all the award winners for their commitment to world-class safety.”
To be considered one of America’s Safest Companies, organizations must complete an application that requires them to demonstrate excellence in several areas: support from leadership and management for EHS efforts; employee involvement in the EHS process; innovative solutions to safety challenges; injury and illness rates lower than the average for their industries; comprehensive training programs; evidence that prevention of incidents is the cornerstone of the safety process; good communication about the value of safety; and a way to substantiate the benefits of the safety process.
Arcadis’ health and safety best practices are featured in a special section in the fall 2024 issue of EHS Today magazine and on the brand’s website, www.ehstoday.com.
Since 2002, America’s Safest Companies has honored more than 250 organizations for their unwavering commitment to worker safety, health and environmental stewardship.
