Arcadis’ industry-leading expertise and digital tools to address PFAS contamination and help safeguard drinking water for local communities.
San Antonio, TX - March 12, 2024 - Arcadis, a leading global design and consultancy organization for natural and built assets, is proud to announce a continued partnership with the U.S. Army Environmental Command (USAEC) to provide essential environmental studies and remediation services of hazardous waste and munition response sites. Arcadis is one of five firms selected as part of a five-year, $464 million shared capacity framework contract for USAEC and the Environmental Remediation Multi-Award (ERMA) support services.
Through this partnership, Arcadis will provide continued support for the USAEC’s mission of ensuring environmental stewardship through environmental remediation services. By contributing to the protection of the environment and the well-being of local communities, Arcadis reaffirms its dedication to improving quality of life. The services provided by Arcadis will support safeguarding the health and safety of both the Army's personnel and the installations’ surrounding communities.
A major focus of the project involves conducting Per-and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) investigations to protect the drinking water for communities located near Army installations. PFAS has been found in firefighting foams and has been identified as a potential health hazard. Arcadis will utilize specialized expertise, digital BI dashboards, and GIS tools to assess and remediate PFAS contamination to help the safety and quality of drinking water for those living near Army facilities. Additionally, Arcadis will address PFAS contamination by conducting comprehensive environmental studies, investigations, and remediation to help protect the health, environment, and natural resources of the communities near the Army installations.
Rhonda Stone, USAEC Account Leader at Arcadis, said: “The projects under this contract will provide complex environmental remediation solutions by leveraging innovative digital tools to collect and analyze the data, while protecting the training mission of the Army. Arcadis is proud to continue to address and limit the Army’s environmental impacts, including PFAS, to communities across the United States and its territories.”
Tom Rose, Federal Section leader for Arcadis, said: “Partnering with USAEC for the ERMA contract is a testament to the trust we’ve built with the U.S. Army when it comes to administering environmental remediation services. We are pleased to continue this partnership and to address PFAS treatment and mitigation of their harmful effects. The impact of this project highlights Arcadis’ leadership in environmental solutions and dedication to protecting communities and their natural resources.”
