New technology developed by Arcadis reduces contamination in hard-to-reach places
As covered in the latest issue of Groundwater Monitoring and Remediation (subscription only), Arcadis has developed a new in-situ groundwater remediation technology that addresses contaminants in difficult-to-access areas, including PFAS. The proprietary technology, HRX Well™, uses replaceable cartridges filled with treatment media. The HRX Well™ has been proven to reduce contaminants by 65 to 80 percent after one year, with reductions beginning immediately after installation.
The large diameter horizontally drilled well is installed parallel to groundwater flows. This allows the HRX Well™ to be installed under buildings, factories and active flight lanes. Additional detail about how the technology addresses, and reduces contamination, is available in the video below.
