Arcadis, a leading global design and consultancy firm, proudly marks the completion of the Acklam Road development, a transformative project in North Kensington that delivers 32 affordable homes, vital community spaces, and commercial facilities.
In partnership with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Arcadis provided comprehensive Project Management, Employer’s Agent, and Cost Management services to bring this milestone project to fruition.
Located in the heart of North Kensington and adjacent to the Swinbrook Estate, the Acklam Road project showcases Arcadis’ commitment to community-centred and sustainable development. The scheme introduces 20 social rent homes and 12 market rent homes, four of which are fully accessible, ensuring inclusivity for residents with varying needs.
Additionally, community facilities and tailored spaces for neighbouring groups, including the Al-Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre and Golborne Youth Centre, embody Arcadis’ vision for shared value and resilient urban design.
Acklam Road’s sustainable features, such as air-source heat pumps and thermally efficient doors and windows, contribute to reduced environmental impact and lower operational costs for residents, aligning with both Arcadis’ and the Council’s green commitments.
Ravi Kainth, Associate Cost Consultant and commission manager, Arcadis said:
“We are delighted to have delivered a project that so meaningfully reflects Arcadis’ commitment to creating sustainable, resilient, and inclusive urban environments. The Acklam Road development demonstrates how thoughtfully designed housing and community spaces can serve as a foundation for stronger, more connected communities.
“From addressing unique site challenges to ensuring environmental efficiency, we are proud to have played a role in bringing the Council’s vision for North Kensington to life.”
Alekhya Yalamanchili, Project Manager, Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, said:
“This project, sets a new standard for high-quality, sustainable housing in urban settings and we are excited to see its completion, providing much needed affordable housing and community facilities in this part of the Borough.”
