Arcadis wins share of $1.5bn contract to support US Air Force environmental programs worldwide

Latest win underscores Arcadis’s expertise in delivering tailored solutions for complex global environmental challenges

27 March, 2025 – Arcadis, a global leader in sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions, has won a US Air Force Multiple Award Task Order Contract (MATOC) for planning and engineering environmental services. This is a $1.5 billion contract, focused on conservation, clean-up, and compliance across all US Air Force headquarters, major commands, and installations both within and outside the contiguous United States.

The contract, beginning in March 2025 with a five-year base ordering period and a single five-year option, allows for a total project period of up to ten years.

Under the contract, Arcadis will provide a comprehensive range of planning and engineering services, including design and construction management, to advance key environmental programs and projects for the US Air Force. The work will focus on environmental restoration, conservation and planning, enhancing environmental quality, ensuring safety and compliance, and strengthening infrastructure resilience. By aligning with environmental regulations, these efforts will help safeguard both operational readiness and public health.

With deep expertise in enviro-socio planning and resiliency, Arcadis will play a pivotal role in supporting the Air Force’s environmental mission, which centers on four core pillars: quality, conservation and planning, pollution prevention, and restoration. Leveraging its global footprint and deep technical innovation, Arcadis will introduce cutting-edge remediation techniques refined through extensive experience in the UK and the Netherlands. This may include patented tools such as Arcadis’s Thermal In-Situ Sustainable Remediation (TISR) solution, which uses solar energy to accelerate natural contaminant breakdown, deployed alongside other new and proven technologies to address historical and emerging contaminants of concern.

Alan Brookes, CEO of Arcadis, said: “Arcadis has been a trusted partner to the US Air Force for more than 20 years, and I’m pleased that this latest win allows us to continue supporting one of our key clients in addressing complex environmental challenges across multiple sites. Ensuring environmental stewardship while meeting stringent regulations is critical, and this win reinforces our reputation for delivering design and engineering solutions that balance compliance, innovation, and drive meaningful environmental progress.”
